Job Description
MEDICAL BILLING SUPERVISOR for Mobile, AL M-F 8-5 $22.75/hour
Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and motivate payment follow-up and demographic edits staff of up to 15 employees to ensure timely, accurate and complete processing of charges, collections, and payments. Review audits of department on a routine basis with other supervisory personnel and provide additional training as needed. Train and evaluate assigned staff. Facilitate monthly meetings for departmental education, compliance education and discussion. Monitor employee performance and discuss issues requiring action with the Billing Manager and Human Resources department. Mediate problems with patients. Prepare reports as requested related to the status of Accounts Receivable by division, payer type or aging category. Maintain working relationships with payer representatives, including the scheduling of regular meetings, to resolve payment issues.
Requirements: Associates required or bachelor s degree preferred. Five years of experience in insurance billing, including current knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT codes Two years experience in a supervisory or coordinator role
